You’re invited: Wed 9/20 screening for “my life… disoriented”

JC & CVK
Hey folks, if you’re in the NYC area, come out and support the screening for Eric Byler’s new TV pilot, my life… disoriented. Byler is director of the critically acclaimed Charlotte Sometimes and the upcoming film Americanese, based on Shawn Wong’s novel American Knees.
The pilot will hit national airwaves on December 26th as part of the PBS series “Independent Lens,” but Eric hopes by then they’ll have found a home for the series as well. This screening could make a big difference in that regard, so please help by coming out to show your support.
SYNOPSIS
Life gets turned upside down for Bay Area teens Kimberlee and Aimee when their father loses his job and relocates the family to Bakersfield. Suddenly, Kimberlee and Aimee are two of only a handful of Asian American kids at their school. Kimberlee quickly makes friends with a street-smart outcast named Tisa, but the new friendship is strained when three “popular” girls take Kimberlee under their wing. Meanwhile, Aimee puts on a brave face for the sake of the family, but shares the cause of her secret suffering with her peculiar, mixed-race cousin, Phil.
