Hi y’all,
Who is Nicole Richie? How did she get so skinny? Does she think she looks good? Why is she famous? Who is she really dating? Will her and Paris ever be friends again? Did she show Paris’ sex tape at a party? Are they getting back together on the David Letterman show? Who is she sleeping with? What plastic surgery has she had? What race is she? Why is she in every magazine?
Those were the questions I wanted to ask Nicole Richie. Normally, there’s a publicist involved who says, “You can’t ask about this or that.” But with Nicole, there were no such restrictions. She came to set the record straight. Nothing was off limits. And the questions we’ve all wanted answers to, SHE ANSWERS!
She wasn’t who I expected her to be. Her life wasn’t what I expected it to be. The interview wasn’t what I expected it to be. I showed her those super skinny photos of herself and asked what she thought when she saw them. I was shocked by her answer.
What is her life really like? Well, to find out, Nicole and I rigged ourselves with hidden cameras and we spent the day together. I’ve been around photographers my whole life, but what I experienced with Nicole was more shocking than anything I’ve ever witnessed. You’ll actually feel what it’s like to be stalked by a swarm of paparazzi. We actually brought paparazzi on our set and Nicole CONFRONTS them.
Forget what you may or may not think of Nicole Richie — watch her on Tuesday and then decide…

Asking how she identifies and if people’s preoccupation with her race was annoying would be far more interesting even though i have to say i could not give a rip what she has to say, unless she claims to have recently eaten a chocolate bar - that would be fascinating.

Yeah, I think I am starting to understand the “irk” of those “What Are You?” questions. No one asks white people what they are unless they have an accent. Our nation is obsessed with light brown color. You could be any race, and so the mystery of your race MUST be discovered! O.K., what happens after she says “I’m …”? I guess suspense brings in ratings.
Hey, I’m mixed too. I’m black and black! Can I get on the cover of one of those magazines?! LOL.

For the record, as a teen growing up I was often “accused” of being Bi-racial (although I am not, simply multi-racial my grand father was Indian). I had to deal with the constant questions about my hair, and having strangers think it was ok to come up to me a actually put their hands in there! While, it was annoying (some people have no tact or respect for boundaries/personal space) I don’t get mad, it’s only human nature to wonder about such obvious things as race. Let it go!
I think we have a lot more important things to worry about that someone being curious about your racial/ethnic make-up.
Sometime I wonder if PC-ness has set society back.
