How NOT to comment on comments

Hehe… great post over at Lorelle on Wordpress, a blog I discovered recently full of great tips for bloggers who use Wordpress software (as we do!) Thankfully the level of discussion here on MMW is pretty intelligent so we don’t really have to worry about a lot of the issues she mentions in her post.
That said, I am totally tempted to introduce Lorelle’s wisdom to the ridiculous 168-comment thread of our May 2005 (!) post on Amerie or the ridiculous 239-comment thread of our March 2005 (!) post on Mariah or the ridiculous 139-comment thread of our Mariah post, also from March 2005 (!). To this day people are leaving comments to those posts and they drive me insane.

Reading those comments (I couldn’t make to the end) reminds me of Robert Downey Jr.’s statement to the judge:

I couldn’t make it to the MIDDLE of either Mariah post, but I did manage to read almost half of the god-awful Amerie post a few months back. I tell you, if that was my first taste of MMW, I seriously doubt I would’ve returned.
