Family to tell the truth about Bruce
JC
Word on the street is that a new book and film about Bruce Lee are in the works…this time, produced by his own family. Some thoughts from Robert Lee. Not only is he Bruce’s brother, but also the president of his fan club:
“To this day, many stories about Bruce Lee continue to be told, many of which are fabricated or exaggerated,” Robert Lee, president of the Bruce Lee Club, said in a statement.
“Today, as Bruce’s brothers and sisters are getting older, and in order to help the public understand the real life of Bruce Lee, Robert has been appointed a very heavy responsibility from the family to clarify the legend of Bruce Lee,” the statement added.
I’ve never seen any of the films out there that claim to tell his life story, but it will be interesting to see what his family wants people to know about him. I can’t even imagine having my family represent my life…. actually, I can, and it would scare me.
But maybe if my brother spearheaded the project…and he was also President of my fan club….lol.

I liked the bio-pic that starred Jason Scott Lee (who’s one of my favorite actors).
I’m surprised that Lee’s window isn’t involved with the project since I thought all rights to image, etc. of a deceased person is inheirited by his/her immediate family, which would be the Widow Lee and his daughter, not Lee’s siblings.
Recently, I learned that Lee was also part German, that he was born in the U.S but moved to Hong Kong as a toddler, and then returned to the U.S. So, I wonder if the story will focus on his childhood and the years before he met his wife.
Otherwise, I’m not sure what the new film could add that the other film didn’t include (of course that film was a love story that never showed Lee’s parents or siblings).

I’m a bit of a Bruce Lee fanatic, has anyone else seen that Chinese movie, I think its called “Lei Siu Lung jyu ngo”, anyway, its this totally bizarre biopic of Bruce, which has all these totally inaccurate things going on, in fact in the movie I don’t think he even meets his caucasian wife, or is in america, most of the film takes place in China, and he’s with Betty Ting Pei the whole time.
Anyway, more Bruce is good Bruce in my book. There are rumours circulating online that he died cause of a drug overdose… Hopefully this movie can get rid of those accusations.
Another fun fact, Bosnia created a bronze statue of him.
