Brad is just pulling any black person out of his intergrationalist b.s. BUTTHOLE to engender some phony debate instead of the real issue he is trying to raise, that being black is a curse and only through "interracial" blending and black people denying wh they are can 'racial harmony' begin. Screw him and the horse he rode in on. Hey Brad, I quess the..

1. Ebony
2. Jet
3. TV One

Is making racism worse because black americans want something for themselves, granted I think race mixing is great (i HAVE INDLUGED IN THAT GREAT PRACTICE MANY TIMES IN MY LIFE) But people like you really keep racism alive because you feel that anything black is limiting or questioning why Halle won an Oscar for 'best black mammy screwing white trash" instead of her work is the eqivalent of verbal mastubastion on your part with your stats on various black celebs who are so-called mixed when these people are as black and identify as such is overreaching to the max dude. There is something called 'culture' and that is more influential than what percent is someone's ethnic mix that can only come from that group.

People like you Brad annoy me because you think that because you have the ability to sleep with a woman of different race that makes you special well it does not it makes you a horny bastard and that's 90% of the male hetrosexual species, and Lucy Lu was in SLEVEN and in various co- starring roles in the last few years and Angela Basset took time off to have a child, so If Thandie (Modern day Tragic Mulatta) Newton is breaking ground for what, being able to be bitten by Tom Criuse on the Tits in "Interview with a Vampire" or screwing a white guy, then we are in some real serious trouble as race relations go. And If Halle wants to romance her 'white god' in an IR movie then she can produce the damn thing herself, she did not have any trouble producing guality black work like...

1. Lackawanna Blues
2. Their eyes were watching God
3. Intorducing Dorthy Dandridge

If she wants to get a motion picture green lighted she can get Debra Dickerson and "black men is no damn good" bridgade and some sympathiec white liberal to boink her in another Oscar winning movie. Maybe this time they will try all the sexual postions.

<i>"Do you also have a problem with Coretta Scott King, Malcolm X., Frederick Douglass, Walter White, Adam Clayton Powell, Martin Luther King Jr, Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young, Lena Horne, Langston Hughes, Will Smith, Toni Morrison, Henry Louis Gates, Beyonce Knowles, and whole hell of a lot other mixed-race African-Americans? "</i>

Brad:
While I agree with your fundamental point, where on earth did you get this list of "biracial" African Americans?

I love Halle, too. She is awesome! I think she has a new found confidence (and a solid bank account) that let's her speak her mind. There are few actresses who are now as bankable as she is. X-Men 3 just did almost $100M this wknd.

Eric,

I'm not sure what to make of your posting on Halle. It's really offensive on many levels. Yes, Halle Berry is biracial. And your point is that she is less authentically "black" or African-American? If you believe that, then please explain why you believe such. Also, who cares if some people didn't like the fact that she played a role that had a powerful "interracial" love scene?

When you used the word "biracial" it almost seemed like an epithet. Do you also have a problem with Coretta Scott King, Malcolm X., Frederick Douglass, Walter White, Adam Clayton Powell, Martin Luther King Jr, Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young, Lena Horne, Langston Hughes, Will Smith, Toni Morrison, Henry Louis Gates, Beyonce Knowles, and whole hell of a lot other mixed-race African-Americans?

So, Eric, how is Berry any less "black" than any of the aforementioned black Americans I've just mentioned?

Eric, surely you must know that the average African-American has 20 to 40% European DNA and/or 8 to 11% Native American DNA. So, why the hatred for Halle Berry?

Also, you are also missing the point of Berry's comments. It's not about her producing movies in which she can have husbands of different races. Berry is stating that she is being passed over for GOOD roles because of RACISM. Roles that are challenging and creatively or financially rewarding because some jackass can't understand that a brown-skinned women could have a white, Asian, Latino, or Indian husband as in real life.

Tom Cruise may be a lot things, but his casting of Thandie Newton as his love interest in Mission Impossible II was considered ground breaking. Cruise, like Berry, is an A-list actor. How many other A-list white actors have had women of color as their love interest? Do you understand how few good roles are available for women in general and for women of color in particular? Jennifer Lopez can play Italian, Berry can't. Why wouldn't Berry want to be cast in a drama as the daughter of Robert Redford or the niece of Robert Deniro or Russell Crowe's wife or Andy Garcia's nemesis or Julia Robert's half-sister?

A few years ago, Angela Bassett was hailed as the next Meryl Streep. But her career went nowhere. Why? Because producers, directors, and casting agents saw her as a "black" actress and not an actress. Do you realize how limiting that is? Bassett has spoken about her frustration and the roles she could not read for. The same applies to men of color. How many Asian-American men have you seen in non-stereotypical roles where they are sexual beings? Both Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Chow Yun-Fat have spoken about their frustration with Hollywood's refusal to cast them in romantic roles.

I like Lucy Liu (love her freckles) but how many films has she appeared in recently?

Hi, Halle. I'm sorry to hear about your toe. And girl you've got to quit being such a klutz, Ok.

And Halle, you don't need to go running home tripping over your own feet to see if your man is cheating on you either, I'm sure he love's you with all of his heart. I really feel bad baby, but you get well soon, do you understand me.

Who cares sbout some rich biracial woman with an Oscar that many black people feel was sickening for the most part, If Halle wants to play in a marriage with men of other races, she can do what she did when she produced Dorthy Dandridge and Their eyes were watching God and she could get any major white or latino actor to play her husband""

Moyles adopted a thick American accent and said: "I could definitely do that. Put your hands up in the air! I'm a black American guy. A big fat black guy. I don't wanna be shooting yo' ass."

So in other words Chris Moyles was not using race for the effect of race?

Charles

Halle Berry, sometimes you can ignore the racist the remarks and its Ok. But when you are confronted with an entire radio audience hanging onto your every word its a hell of a different story, because all of your struggles as a Black African American Woman are put on the line. You did the right thing. Your mother didn't lie.
