It gives some comfort to know that when these young men get to prison, they may face the same humiliation and suffering that they inflicted on this poor, young boy. I think they should know what it feels like ot be punched, kicked and sodomized with a sharp object…and have bleach poured all over their open wounds. And perhaps they will get that opportunity when Bubba at the state pen gets through with them.

This was an act of pure hatred and should be punished as a hate crime. The courts need to make an example of these two teenage boys and let people know this kind of behavior is unnacceptable. ( Did these boys learn this kind of hatred from their parents?) To do something like that you have to be sick, in the head….. My prayers go out too the young victim.

Okay, feel better now after reading the comments, knowing I’m not alone in my horror. No, I won’t be falling for the supremacist okeydoke of hating all people of one race. Serene made me want to commit violence against her though for that ignit comment. But I reassure myself that she did it to cause drama, and that people like her are the reason for The Hate that Hate Built.

See, violence is violence and should be opposed. I get no consolation wondering if these two poor excuses for homo sapiens will be attacked in prison. I just hope the victim gets the physical and psychological therapy to piece his life back together.

Besides, there’s a very real chance that these two would get scooped up by a NeoNazi group in prison and held up as poster children for anti-mud people everywhere.

vile. I agree that the assailants’ belief that the girl was white is more important than whether or not she is white or Latina. That belief underlies their intent to brutalize this boy.

It’s not enough to beat the kid, they have to sodomize him with weapons. Emmett Till’s genitalia were cut off. This happened in other lynchings too. What do you all make of this white male obssession with non-white sexuality and white women?

Serene: Yes, there is a lot more white on white crime. Simply because there are more white folks. (PS: how do you define “white?” There a lot of “white”-looking Latinos.)

Or are you trying to insinuate that there are lots of vulnerable white folks out there being preyed upon by other ethnicities? Cause if you are, then I will just remind myself that laughter is good for the soul.

As for hate crimes in the US, statistically, it usually IS white-identified perpetrators. I’ll leave it up to you to know why.

And as for “balanced,” whatever that means, as the mods pointed out, this is NOT a crime journal - then you cry “bias” or whatever you’re claiming.

I do notice the lack of empathy/outrage regarding the story. I guess it reflects your priorities.
