I agree with Craig, although the point of this type comedy is to offend and I’m not for censoring, just making fun of EVERYBODY rather than some folks more than others.

What does seem unfair is that there is little positive space for octoroon identified folks in media, rather than to be the butt of jokes like this. Also (and this is not the exact same thing as octoroon-identified folks) there is not much positive media space for white-looking folks with recent black ancestry. So I can see why folks of this background could be offended that their representation is limited to mocking comedy skits like this one.

I find the ‘Octoroon Date’ skit extremely offensive and in bad taste. It gives the impression to mainstream viewers that all persons of non-white ancestry who complain about differential treatment are extremely oversensentive whiners who are imagining all their problems.
