‘Something New’ cast on Oprah this Wednesday
CVK
Stop the presses! Black women are flocking in DROVES to date white men, according to Oprah! Okay I’m exaggerating, but I wanted to give everyone a heads-up that this Wednesday, Oprah will have the cast of “Something New” on her show (thanks to Myra for the tip!). And she’s definitely playing up “trend” angle. Check out the write-up from the Oprah site:
03/08/06 Black Women Dating White Men: It’s Something New! Plus, Singing Sensation James Blunt
Black women dating white men. Is it something new? And, the details about the sex, the hair thing and the dancing. Plus, singing sensation James Blunt! The story behind his hit song.
Uh I have no idea who James Blunt is, but I will definitely watch this episode and report back. Meanwhile, be sure to check out our in-depth review of Something New on episode 16 of Addicted to Race. We absolutely loved it - so be sure to go out and support this movie!

James Blunt is a British singer/songwriter who’s quite good but i doubt he has anything to do with the movie.

Blunt is an anglophile sex object. He is famous for saying ‘your beautiful’ 70 times in one song then he fills in the gaps with ‘ doo deee doo dee dooo’. I bet Oprah asked him out.

anglophile? i don’t have a particular desire to be british and don’t find blunt particularly desirable, but still like his music which has little to do with this forum, so anyway.

Meg that’s not an accusation. I hate Blunts music.
. . . . Do I have to explain why I think he is attractive?
just, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Oprah would bring out a white man to sing love songs on a show titled ‘black women dating white men’.

I don’t know, Justin. I think it’s easily attributable to the fact that Blunt currently has the #2 single in the country.

Yeah well, that too. Oprah is not a music show.
