That’s not what she said. It just seems that with Gen Y, exotification & exploitation of female sexuality for power/profit isn’t just accepted- it’s celebrated as ‘empowering’.
Calling it a totally Gen Y problem might be a little unfair?
I don’t know… Maybe I’m just a typical GenX who’s grumpy about all the bad music… Or maybe I’m still angry about the time my 9 yr old cousin came to visit after a Britney concert and asked for a stripper pole for Christmas… This is way off topic!

Are you talking about the Eng/Liu shirt?
Did you know that the shirt actually caused quite a controversy at an art show? And not by mixed race people, but by white male spectators in the crowd. Talk about ‘performance art’…

riiiiiiiight……..like that page isn’t gonna change my mind about the WM/AF didactic. I know that not all WM/AF have an element of dominance……..but what irritates me is the fact that in Gen Y, there’s that whole exotification fact.

I saw a shirt that said, “I Don’t Date White Guys”, that was made by an indie artist based in San Francisco. Hell, I’ll even wear that, even though I am hapa. All my years within the progressive movement, I have never seen a white man who was truly down with the causes of people of color. I’m sorry, but they are unable to relate to us.
