I don’t like the fact that she is saying. Man, there’s got to be another way to say it than that. She’s a beautiful gal but man have some respect. I’m just offended when she said that “I have that asian side” .. you know the quiet side.. uh not all of us is quiet! that is just sooo stereotypical!

What a friggin’ loser! This is what I hate about certain hapas. They brag about being hapa (”Oh boy! Bet you can’t tell what race I am!! That’s because I’m hapa and exotic and beautiful! In your face, full-blooded people!”) Yet they stupidly talk about themselves SO stereotypically. I can’t believe they published that.

Yeah… this article should be used as defense the next time someone claims that “mixed people CAN”T be prejudiced.”

She may be misquoted, or maybe (likely) English is her second language. It’s also SI, which wouldn’t be the first mag to make up a quote or two.

Whats even stranger is that most Brasilians I know will fervently refer to themselves as “Brasilian” with cornered with the “what are you” question. Seems she’s missing the boat on a couple of fronts here.

haha… well i guess this is a good reminder that just being multiracial doesn’t guarantee immunity to thinking in terms of racial stereotypes.
