Exotic Watch: Thandie Newton
CVK
Thandie Newton is the new Bond girl, according to Korean Web site Ohmy News. She’s going to play “sexy spy” Vesper Lynd in the next Bond film, “ Casino Royale.” This part totally cracked me up:
It has been reported that New Bond Daniel Craig was said to be “deeply impressed” with the 33-year-old mother-of-two’s performance in the raunchy bedroom scene test and Newton will start filming on Casino Royale in the Caribbean at the end of the month.
Yeah I’ll bet he was deeply impressed. Anyway, the article ventures into Exotic Watch land:
Thandie Newton was born November 6, 1972, in Zambia, Africa. Her first name, Thandie, means “beloved.” Her exotic beauty can be attributed to her mixed heritage: her father Nick Newton, a British artist and former lab technician married Nyasha, a Zimbabwean nurse.

Oh man. I loved her in MI:2 (which gets so little credit for its interracial romance!) and Crash.
Positive stereotypes are strange things. “She’s beautiful because she’s mixed.” Um… so what about regular-looking mixed folk? I suppose we can just console ourselves with our exceptional intelligence…

*snicker* wait, but do the plain-looking mixed folk with average IQs still get the best of both worlds?
LOL, Ben.

I heard that her father was an African diplomat, not an artist. I wonder which one is correct?

well, one can be an artist and a diplomat, if not at the same time, then as different careers.

She is gorgeous and her father is a British Artist (Nick Newton - he’s had a few shows) from Penzance, England and her mother was a health care worker in Tanzania.

You know, as much as miscengation abounds around the world, I find it interesting how the media positively promotes interracial relationships and offspring…if you don’t want to mix the races, why are all mixed folks said to have “the best of both worlds”? Stop the insanity! You can be beautiful whether you’re mixed or not! And stop making mixed people “exotic”! They’re human, not a rare bird in some amazon rain forest. Dude! The media aggravates me to no end.

The only movie I’ve seen Thandie in has been “Flirting” which is one of my favorite movies. Its about an Australian boy at a boarding school who falls in love with a Ugandan girl at a neighboring boarding school

Although it would be nice to see another mulatto actress follow Halle Berry as a Bond girl it seems it’s just a rumour and not true. Thandie Newton actually denied it.
