I really don’t know how to respond to this piece in the New York Press, written by a white woman explaining (in gross, explicit detail) why she CRAVES sex with black men. All I can say is ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! I’m amazed that she doesn’t have a problem at all with the fact that she’s completely objectifying and dehumanizing an entire people. Scary.
Black skin is thick and lush, sensuous to the touch, like satin and velvet made flesh. There’s only one patch of skin on a white man’s body that remotely compares to nearly every inch of a black man’s skin. The first time I caressed black skin, it felt like a luxury I shouldn’t be able to afford. I craved it more strongly than Carrie Bradshaw craved Manolo Blahnik shoes. That phrase, “Once you go black, you never go back” is all about the feeling of the skin…
By the way, she clearly has never seen Bobby Brown’s feet. ;)
I want black men. They want me. We look at one another and exchange a visible frisson of sexual energy in the lingering glances. And our attraction is based first on race. We are not those couples who “happen to fall in love” with someone of a different race or more purposefully come together but out of some greater sense of interracial understanding and respect. Surely our culture as much as biology turns them into softer, spongier, less-interesting versions of their youthful selves just at the point where women and black men and other minorities are emerging strong. Society overvalues the white man, leaving him angry and bitter when he realizes, around age 40, that he’s not all that. With the exception of some Italians, white men don’t turn me on anymore.

Critics always tend to point out their OWN flaws in OTHERS.
As usual, I find this woman to be doing just that. There is no doubt in my mind that she is in fact a 40+ year old “3F” (fat, forty & frustrated) White woman herself trying desperately to recapture her lost youth and vivaciousness. So really, her critique should read:

Anyways, as far as “objectifying and dehumanizing,” out in the real world, nobody really gives a fuk as long as it helps them get what they want out of life…and this is one case-in-point. At least she’s halfways honest about her motives - unlike most.

Who said anything about prettying it up? If you wanna stoop to her level, so be it, but mindless vitriol is just that - mindless.
What would a civilized discussion look like? Well, first I’d ask who’s throwing all this crap into my street, and figure out how to reduce the amount of crap being poured into the neighborhood. Then I’d brainstorm on how to flush it away, filter it out to its bare essence, and neutralize it so it can’t harm anyone. Or do you want raw sewage to be lying on YOUR front stoop, spreading cholera (or in this oh-so-blatent analogy, racism?)
