I find it very insulting to suggest that black marriages are not physically beneficial to black women. And to say that marriage is no more than a lifeline to the black man is the ultimate insult. My faith teaches me that when a man finds a wife, he has found a good thing. I also believe that a woman is also blessed when she finds a husband. For any single black man or woman who reads that article, don't believe the hype! There are too many examples of marriages that last 30, 40 and 50 years. My parents are an example of such a marriage. Statistics can be Very misleading. I am also angered by the undercurrent of racism toward African American men in this article. I know many Black brothers who are great husbands & loving fathers. Black girls & Black Wives benefit greatly by having a strong, commited man in their lives. It is sad that many men(& women) of all creeds break their vows. That doesn't make a Real Marriage any less valid! Don't be decieved by rhetoric! I hope everyone reading this has enough presence of mind not to put too much stock in statistics.
