I think that we emphasize looks too much when we hear about Eurasians. What about their abilities, intellect and their attitudes towards others? I am eurasian and I'm down to earth. Yes, I like my unique look. Although I'm not a male supermodel, I get lots of compliments. But often, I work with myself to be a good person and keep busy with the things i like and the people I like. We are all equal in the eyes of God.

Hello:

Does anyone have a bibliography or literature review recommendation for additional research on appearance AND mixed races?

Despite "beauty being in the eye of the beholder," from my observation, mixed-race individuals are more beautiful and more sturdy in appearance than offspring of same-race parents.

Please consider the obvious: Mixed-race individuals have healthier looking features from top to bottom. Their hair is just the right texture - not too straight - normally not too curly; their complexion is generally flawless; again, not too light nor dark (this is not to imply that it is anything wrong with being light or dark; after all, we did not create ourselves). Nevertheless, the mixed-race individuals' features are made to order. Noes, ears and eyes are perfect. even if there are other problem areas, e.g., obesity, height, etc., they are beautiful, and there is no way to theorize that fact away.

thanks,

I wasnt being cocky in my last post, but for myself, people can immediately tell that I am not a "normal" race. I guess that it is obvious immediately that I am not just white, black, hispanic, middle eastern, or anything like that.

I get asked for my ethnic background all of the time.

I'm a half black half german girl and have to admit I get compliments most of the time and i'm mostly happy with myself. I'm only fed up of people telling me that all germans are racist, well there's many of them, but not all of them, i'm a living proof of it. Racism is everywhere! I don't follow topics because if I was to fallow a topic I would say that one of my halves is the best race in the world and one of my other halves is the second worse (jew's the first worst) How does this sound? Ha, anyway. Probably my mother gave me the beauty and my father the brains, there's nothing I can complain about, only the lack of flexibility of some people to understand, but well, at the end of the day? Nothing will ever change, so get on!

I am mixed. bu doi, luk krueng. a half breed. a half-and-half. eurasian - chinese/irish to be specific. i find that people are either oblivious to my ethnicity, or super aware of it. i am often mistaken for being spanish or italian too [though admitedly there is spanish on the irish side].
often chinese people tell me i look white, which i dont think i do. its not something im hugely aware of, and for a time during my youth thought everyone must be in someway mixed - my best friend and next-door-neighbour was indian/african. however both me and my two sisters are 9 out of 10 times approached with the line "where are you from?" when we're out - to such an extent that i can even use the "i dont speak english" line as a retort! lol
my boyfriend [who is white] says its what makes me beautiful, and is a firm believer in the idea that mixed race people are more attractive. my parents were also told this when expecting me by many other people.
i dont entirely know where i stand on this myself - but do think that its this that attracts men to me, since i am [like a previous poster] not flirty, or etroverted, and generally quite shy.
apart from the fact that people have said i look like her [and this is think is perhaps because she is the only mixed oriental/eurasian girl on tv] - i personally find kristen kreuk to be more attractive than lucy lui or devon oika.

I am totally white, good looking, 6'3", blond hair, blue eyes. I was brought up in a very white, rural city in England, and from this naturally came more outspoken racist views and opinions, based purely on ignorance and the unknown. The point I am trying to emphasise is that I have almost certainly been subconsciously pre-conditioned to persue girls of the same race as my self, either by my parents, friends or my culture. However, despite this fact I have always found girls from other races more attractive than from my own ever since I was a teenager. Most of my past girlfriends have been of either mixed race, or of a completely different race. Certainly Asians (oriental), or Eurasians are extremely attractive to me, but generally any mix of races seems to appeal. I have wondered why this is the case, and I can only believe that it is a biological desire to mix up the genes for more healthy children. I am naturaly atracted to darker skinned girls, with dark hair, and dark eyes - especially from different racial mixes. I feel that my genes really need to spread out and mix with something on the opposite scale to myself. I often see same-race partnerships as limiting growth and development of offspring, and thus prolonging in-breeding. I can't understand why inter racial relationships are not more common. I believe that negative social conditioning and influences play a big role in choosing the race of a girl one ends up with, rather than a natural desire for spreading one's genes accross the race pool that is now more open to everyone in this ever mixing world we all live in.

In regards to health, the article fails tonote the persons of mixed-raced background have more difficulty in finding bone marrow donors, which is certainly a problem given the incidence of cancer among children and adults.

I too think this article superficial. Just how does a Eurasian look anyway? I never would have know Devon Akoi was mixed-raced until I read it in a magazine article. She looks very asian to me. So if a Eurasian looks more asian than mixed, does that mean they are less attractive? I don't think so.

As for the poster who claims his mixed-background is the reason for his success with the ladies, couldn't it just be that these women are attracted to him because he looks different from the men they are use to seeing. For example I use to work summers at a retail store in Chicago. One of my male co-workers was Hispanic (his family was from Puerto Rico). He was attracted to black women. He would salivate over every black woman that would enter our department. A lot of times people are attracted to people who look different from them, because they see these people as "exotic." For my co-worker, these black women were exotic looking because he grew up in an area of the city where such women were few and far between. There are a lot of unattractive people in this world of all ethnic backgrounds. Mixed-raced people do not have a monopoly on beauty, though they oftentimes like to think they do.
