Naima has a TWIN?

As you all know, I love my TV and I’m so excited that all the good shows are finally coming back on! Well, by “good” I mean mindlessly entertaining, natch. So last night there was a 1-hour special to promote the new season of America’s Next Top Model, sort of a “where are they now?” type deal.
Of course they talked about what last season’s winner Naima was up to: living out of a suitcase, modeling, acting… OMG she’s going to be in the season premiere of Veronica Mars! It’s a coming-together of two of my fave shows! (Okay, I just lost all credibility with you guys, I know.)
They showed some shots of Naima with her family–talking to her dad and pics of her whole family (5 kids). And… she has an identical twin sister! Who knew? Anyway, it was cool to see that she talked so openly about her mixed black, Irish and Mexican identity and how she represents “a melting pot.” Thanks Naima, for repping for us!

Um, I think the point is that with more openly mixed people in the public eye, it can help perceptions of mixed people INDIVIDUALLY.
If we’re all not seen as one thing, then maybe we can all be better at doing our own thing.
