The Mad Hatter’s Review takes a look at Thaddeus Rutkowski’s new book, Tetched. Thad’s cult following of NYC Swirlies is quite excited for this new release — it will most definitely be one of our upcoming book club reads! Congrats, Thad!

In Thaddeus Rutkowski’s latest novel, Tetched, we follow the narrator, a young boy of mixed Asian and unspoken lineage: biracial, through the tunnels and tumults of his life, laughing, crying and commiserating along the way. A major theme concerns failed and nonexistent attempts at communication among the members of his family. For instance, when the boy’s Chinese mother tries to teach him words from her language, she teaches him “Nimen da bizi. All of you have big noses.”

Thad has a very distinct and humorous voice…I can’t wait to read this one!
