Uh, this is what angry white kid would call 'appropriation of culture'. You can enjoy hip hop without trying to kill the essence of who you are: WHITE. So ignorant.

too bad the article's author completely misrepresented the true story in order to get an easy controversy for people to understand.
i am the bartender for this party.
in truth, the party is A LOT more controversial than she explained. harder for most people, i guess?, to understand...
the birth of the party was at a (mostly peurto rican) hip hop club in the nieghborhood and the party attracted the local lesbian scene to join. we all danced together to the same raunchie bootie bass lyrics that had been mass marketed to us as teenagers (just around the time the "parental discresion advisory" was added to certain albums) and everyone at the party just went buck wild with their physicalities through dance. and what a cultural cross over it has been!!! so great, so so great...
um, the article was made to offend and get the writer's name out there. unfortunately (yet fortunately) the party throwers weren't trained to talk to press/certain press about their subconsious activist attitudes and practices. the dialog will continue though, and the truth will come out.
there is a new generation of thought on the horizon- and guess what- its mixed: mixed in priveledge, race, and sexual orientation. try it out sometime- bring someone off the street that isnt familiar to computers, teach them how to blog and ask them to tell YOU what you havent been exposed to that exists their life!
there may be a point that the people you think you cant relate to will be able to laugh with you...at the absurdity of it all.
tonite was a good party.
love on, warrior forever

So disgusting. So sad. It's essentially a minstrel show without the messy face paint. Way to go, hipsters.
