Bill Maher: I’m not into black women
CVK
The New York Daily News’s Daily Dish reports on the relationship between comedian Bill Maher and Karrine Steffans, who just wrote the tell-all book “Confessions of a Video Vixen:”
Meanwhile, Steffans’ relationship with Bill Maher is proceeding nicely.
“She’s funny and beautiful,” the comic told us yesterday at a lunch that HBO honcho Richard Plepler threw for him at Michaels to celebrate Maher’s book, “New Rules.”
Maher isn’t worried Steffans might turn on him like former girlfriend Coco Johnsen, who filed a $9 million palimony suit (which a judge recently threw out).
“People say I’m into black women,” says Maher. “Robert De Niro is into black women. I’m just into women who are real, and they happen to be black.”
Hmmm… I guess this is the age-old question. At what point do you go from just “happening” to have dated several people of a certain ethnic group, to being complete fetishist? And what’s wrong with having a racial fetish–or “preference,” as defensive people will usually put it–anyway? Well, that’s something we’ll tackle in a future Ask New Demographic column.
But in the case of Maher, you can’t deny there’s a clear pattern at work here, at least in terms of the way these women look. All I have to say is, don’t Google either of them because you’ll turn up a whole bunch of photos that are definitely *not* safe for work.
Seems to me that Maher is “not into” black women the way I’m “not into” Keanu Reeves.
I’m REALLY REALLY not into Keanu Reeves (see 2nd item).

[…] The ladies will still be blogging about all of your favorite topics regarding race that do indeed fall out of the range of Racialicious, but don’t worry: they’ve got some really excellent stuff in the making. I can promise you that (call it a hunch). We all remember when we first encountered blogs or websites that changed our life in one way or another. I stumbled across MMW by performing a Google search for Bill Maher and black women. […]
