ABC 7 News reports on an interracial couple in Maryland that is dealing with anonymous harassers. Apparently, the racist flyers that littered the lawn of this black-white couple is one of a few hate crimes that have recently occurred in the area.
Jackie Underwood says she has cleaned up more than two-dozen racist fliers at her home in Davidsonville in the past three weeks. Underwood says she contacted the NAACP and the police, who told her they’re investigating. Some of the cartoons were sexually graphic and violent. The NAACP says there have been several recent racial incidents in the area.
On June first, the group says a black woman in Hanover found a white man vandalizing her car, which had the N-word written on it.
On May 20th, Sharon Jones, a black woman in Ferndale, allegedly found a cross at her home with the words, “Black-free white zone” written on it.
