Actually I've just finished reading a book called 'Mao's Last Dancer' by Li Cunxin. It is the autobiography of a male Chinese ballet dancer. He eventually marries a caucasian Australian ballet dancer. It's a really good read.

All these comments are interesting. But I have to say when I go out and about and see couples, most Asian women are with Asian men. It is once in a while you might see an interacial couple but not as often as people choosing someone similar to their own race. That is why this website is good for us mixed folks.
As for halfys article-he has a sense of humour and I think that is very attractive in a person. And also confidence is really important as mentioned by 'asian dad'. We should all try to get along. However I have to say being a half asian/caucasian female or 'halfy' I find it hard to find the male version of me. Are they hiding? Are they biologically less common??????

Look guys! Just let love happen naturally, dontgo out looking for a particular race, just think about what you have to offer whoever comes along. I am all for interracial couples. MY mum is Jamaican with a little cuban, and my dad is Gujrati, I am Blasian, mixed race, and I would not be here today if it was not for their disregard of prejudice.

I am dark skinned with asian eyes and thick jet black mixed hair, and I love it. You need to be happy with who you are and stop blaming women! at the end of the day it may just be that your lady for life is in the making. I am married to a Jamaican man with some maroonian in him, but the most important thing to me was finding someone who loved me for me, not what tjeir children would look like, based on my hair and eyes. Just to let you know, we Blasians have our insecurities too! and Mixed persons

Asian men keep your head up and focus on God and you will be alright. I'm black with Chinese in me and proud of both and I think you should be proud of being Asian and a female will come along just be patient, Asian girls turn their backs on you that means they don't love themselves. That's all I have to say there are black and Indian chicks hopefully that are interested or whoever just keep your head lifted to God Jesus the Messiah he makes everything alright. Pray to God for a help mate He will provide.

Im a Singaporean guy, and so far, I have not had any luck on relationships since the day i was borned. First of all, there are many nice girls out there, many who looks out for asian men and stuff, but ow many of them actually look beyond their physical looks? When girls look at guys, the least they want their datable type would either be someone filthy rich, someone with looks like a westerner or someone with the build of a westerner? I do not look like jet lee nor jackie chan, nor am i borned physically strong(i have a congenital heart disease), but i do not let these bring me down in whatever i do. But girls, both asian and western, classify me as someone non-datable when they first see me. I am not even given a chance to show them what type of character I really am. Can that be counted as being fair? Girls bang on looks nowadays, thus the "bitter asian men" site,in summary, could have said girls prefer them as they have more of the "perfect" looks.

Now heres evidence. I know of 3 cases, of people relatively close to me, that have suffered due to the wrong choice. The similar thing is that, they have chosen someone that is said as "hot and handsome", and after that, got abused(physically, verbally, mentally).

In summary, not all asian guys are good. Highly westernised asian guys have a higher probability to mistreat their loved ones, and nice girls tend to pick someone that can make their life a living hell, by going for looks

I have to agree with Jasmine on this one. I really dig asian men. Well, I like all races of men. Other forums just wine on how asian guys like this and taking a black girl home to meet the parents, and yada yada. Well, I'm sure a person's parents may have something to do with their significant other. My parents do not care what race a man is, that I may meet. As long as he is good to me and makes me happy. And to jasmine again, I so know what you mean about their hair. It's so gorgeous how black it is, straight and flowing in the wind, and shiny it is, but don't get me wrong. Hair isn't the major reason why I am attracted to someone! lol. Well, I don't care what people think about me liking men of another race, the main people who say to me, " Are you crazy?" for liking someone out of my race, is because they are not open to alot of things as I am. I live in Michigan, so I really don't get a chance to be around alot of asians, but some. I don'y know if I will meet someone that shares me background. I'm a black muslim woman, so I'm not sure if I will get a chance to be different in seeing someone of the other race, but oh well. If it is meant to be, it should happen. My man for right now is COLLEGE. Oh boy, I hope this forum isn't too old to post on this topic lol!

Lauren,I only wish my girlfriend could see what you see in (most) asian men. I'm Chinese male and having a long distance relationship with an Aussie girl. I hate to say this but cultural differences sometimes can have an effect on relationships mostly in a bad way.We are both in our mid 30s and we are looking to take our relationship to the next level after dated for a year and half now. Our last holiday was in Dec'05 in Thailand and eveything went superbly well...until she suggested that I should come meet her folks in person. But there is only one problem, I don't live in Australia, but Malaysia..eventhough distance has never been much of a problem for me...so recently she asked that I move to OZ to start a life with her. I work easily 10-15 hrs daily becos my proffesion is such (advertising) and my other half works 9-5 and with the time zone difference obviously it hasn't helped when it comes to catching up daily on the phone...so moving to OZ might be a good thing to do. So I put in my resignation and took on a 3 month contractual agreement sitead with the (same) company and with a better pay package thinking that I would need the extra $ when i get to OZ. But to my supprise, my other half thinks that I took on the contract becos I had to have the money and had chosen money over her. hmmm? So she blamed me for delaying my trip by 3 months and for that she had to go back to her ex-b/friend. Im pure bred Chinese, money may not be everything, but without money you can have nothing. Yes, it is still my responsibility to look after my folks mentally, physically and financially. All i wanted to do was to stay financially stable when we are together and not create any uneccesary worry in our relationship. Its not like we have a full proof relationship going anyway..yet i was still willing to take the chance. Its definately culture differences here. Sorry If I too long-winded

Str8 Records:

I agree with you about the whole "Asian culture surpassing American culture" and also on the level of Asian men treating their women better then white boys. I have experienced that first hand. That’s why I like Asian men better then white guys (well, there are more reasons then that). I do realize the burden of an Asian male in the family/working roll. My boyfriend works 12 hours a day 5-6 days a week to provide for himself, help me out (when I need it. I do work but do not make all that much as my schedule varies), and help his family when they need him. He takes it upon himself everyday to work as hard as he can, so in the long run, we'll have something nice to fall back on.
