New report on interracial marriage in UK

The Office for National Statistics has published a new report on inter-ethnic marriage statistics in the U.K:
Two per cent of marriages were between people from different ethnic backgrounds (219,000). Of these inter-ethnic marriages, most (198,000) included a White person…
The most common inter-ethnic marriages were between White and Mixed race people, 26 per cent of all inter-ethnic marriages. Marriages between a White person and someone who described their ethnic group as ‘Other’ were the next most common (15 per cent), followed by White and Black Caribbean marriages (12 per cent), and White and Indian marriages (11 per cent).
People from the Mixed ethnic group were the most likely to be married to someone outside their ethnic group (78 per cent). The Mixed ethnic group is relatively small and there are limited opportunities to marry someone from the same ethnic group. However, mixed race people are often married to someone from a related ethnic group. For example, among men who described their own ethnic group as ‘Mixed - White and Black Caribbean’, 76 per cent were married to White women, 8 per cent to Black Caribbean women and 11 per cent to ‘Mixed – White and Black Caribbean’ women.

It is slightly different but similar for mixed race women in the u.k, because 70% of them are married to white men (so as you can see it is not true that just many mixed men are with white women same goes for mixed race women with white men) , 15% to black men (slightly more common that mixed race men with black women), 11% to other mixed race men (i think the main reason for it being lower than with mixed men has something to with age) and 4% to other (mainly asian like indian for example). I am suprised by these stastists because i am mixed race and evan though i have noticed mixed race people with white people i didin’t know it was to this extent. first of all i woulden’t expect because it is not as often you hear about 1/4 black 3/4 black people (there are probably more of them under 18) than you hear of 1/2 black and white people. also i would have expected more of them to want to be with ethnic minoritys. but i suppose them being part white and liveing around more of them may be the main cause. of from that, statitics show that 48% of black men here are marred to white women and the rest mainly to black or mixed women, and 1 third of black women are with white men.

I have NEVER met someone as wonderful as she in 51 years of life.I feel so fullfilled and content with her in my life.I can only hope and pray that we can enjoy our lives unmolested by the exstremists of either side of this debate.
I dont think of my as black /white/red/yellow or any other color. What I do think of is about our daily life together, and the extraordinary contentment and peace I enjoy being with her.
I would love any color that could offer such a rare gift. And trust me on this people.This lady I will cherish and protect and provide for as long as I live.I hope each of you are graced with such happiness in your lives.

i think what you said is sweet and yes it is rear to find someone that is your soulmate and love is colour blind and you don’t choose who you love it chooses you and when you find that person it is true sometimes it is the person that you never expect urself to be with but when it happens it is wonderful
