Mixed sisters launch new greeting card company
JC
Check out Mix It Up, a new line of greeting cards that serves consumers in the mixed community. The founders, Tiffany & Courtney Morrison, were inspired to create cards that reflected families like theirs.
Our family, the Morrison family, is made up of dad, who’s African-American, mom, who’s of English & Scottish descent, and us. We’ve always found it difficult to find greeting cards that reflect our multicultural make-up. As a solution, mom would buy existing greeting cards and color them to better reflect our unique situation.
Over the years, we’ve become aware that our situation is not quite so unique – there are an increasing number of multiracial families, relationships and friendships, in general. Why not create cards that portray “mixed” relationships between people of Asian, Hispanic, African, and Caucasian backgrounds?
Right now it seems that most of the designs reflect black/white unions…hopefully they will expand to portray more of the aforementioned relationships that exist out there! ![]()

That’s cool. I get greeting cards with animals so I don’t have to “worry about the color”. I’m fine with the black and white gretting cards since I’m white and my husband’s black.

I’ve noticed that many of the online greeting card sites focus on a very small section of society, so there is definitely a need. Not just ethnicity but also religion, we have friends that are mixed religions and there are not many card options available.
