one to watch: “Miracle’s Boys”

JC
the stars of Miracle's BoysStar-Telegram gives a heads-up on Miracle’s Boys, a miniseries that will air on The N (Noggin’s teen network) next month.

Miracle’s Boys, about three biracial (Puerto Rican and black) teen-age brothers coping with life after the death of their mother… is a big-time project. Not only is Lee directing a pair of 30-minute episodes, but so are veterans Bill Duke, Ernest Dickerson, LeVar Burton and Neema Barnette. But Lee overstates the case when he says, “There’s nothing like it on TV.” Lee’s wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, a producer, joined him on the panel. “There are raw emotions among these three brothers,” she said. “It’s three men of color dealing with issues and understanding anger and what anger is about. We’re looking forward to this.”

They’re not biracial, they’re bi-ethnic and mostly black. Puerto Rican is not a race.

I am so glad you said that. If were going to say that then Lucy and Ricky are the first interracial kiss in television history. People can’t assume a person from Puerto Rico can’t be of African descent, they had slaves. It’s just like what the Mavin Foundation assume with it’s listing of someones so called races when most of them are usually just countries.
